BPCL Q4 net profit slides 8% to ₹ 4392 cr

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) reported a standalone net profit of ₹4,391 crore for the fourth quarter of FY25, reflecting an 8% decline year-on-year. This downturn was primarily attributed to significant losses in the domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) segment, where the company incurred a loss of ₹3,217.82 crore during the quarter due to selling LPG below cost.

For the entire fiscal year, total LPG-related losses amounted to ₹10,446.38 crore. BPCL's average Gross Refining Margin (GRM) for FY25 stood at $6.82 per barrel, a notable decrease from $14.14 per barrel in FY24. Revenue from operations for the quarter was ₹1,26,916 crore, down 3.92% compared to the same period last year. The company's board proposed a final dividend of ₹5 per equity share, in addition to an interim dividend of ₹5 per share already disbursed earlier in the fiscal year.
